Cathleen M. Albertson is a Middletown Township resident, community leader, and education professional running for Township Council in District 3. Cathleen was born and raised in Wilmington, Delaware, and earned a Master of Arts in Psychology from Brandeis University and a graduate certificate in Applied Behavior Analysis from Penn State. A Board Certified Behavior Analyst since 2006, Cathleen has spent her career working with children and adults with autism, focusing on thoughtful, evidence-based decision-making and collaboration across multidisciplinary teams.
Since 2008, Cathleen has worked at Devereux CARES in Downingtown, Pennsylvania, where she helps oversee clinical and related services in autism-focused education and programs. Her work requires balancing safety, transparency, fiscal responsibility, and the needs of diverse stakeholders. She has also served as an adjunct professor of Applied Behavior Analysis at Eastern University since 2013 and at Drexel University since 2018, mentoring future professionals and contributing to workforce development in the region.
Cathleen’s commitment to community service is deeply personal. In Middletown, she served for years as both president and vice president of the Highmeadow Civic Association, helping organize events, supporting neighbors, and fostering inclusive participation for residents of all ages and backgrounds. Even after changing neighborhoods, she has remained actively involved in her children’s schools, youth sports, scouting, and local service projects, modeling civic engagement and volunteerism for her family.
Cathleen is running for Township Council because she believes strong local government starts with listening, transparency, and collaboration. She supports continuing Middletown’s progress while preserving open space, maintaining public safety, and ensuring township decisions are clear, inclusive, and accessible to
residents. With educational experience, community-based leadership, and deep roots in Middletown, Cathleen is ready to serve her neighbors and to help guide the township’s future.
