Laura Shaw is running for Middletown Township Constable. She will bring her extensive management experience and deep commitment to the community to her service as a local peacekeeping officer.
A retired scientist and former AT&T executive, Laura has dedicated her post-retirement life to community building. Her volunteer work as a Court Appointed Special Advocate has been both heart-breaking and a privilege, as she helped families navigate their most challenging times.
She is committed to trauma-informed peacekeeping and supporting the judiciary's role in furthering community safety. If elected constable, Laura will work to protect residents' rights and to enable all members of the community to enjoy a safe environment.

After a long career as a scientist with Bell Labs and an executive at AT&T, Laura has dedicated her post-retirement life to community building. She and her husband live in Middletown and have four daughters.
Laura's community involvement is extensive. She runs the Sharing is Caring program and has organized a Meet Your Legislator event through Friends of Franklin Station. She also serves as a Mid-County Democratic Committee Vice Chair for Middletown Township and previously ran for the New Jersey General Assembly.
Having experienced childhood abuse, Laura understands the lifelong impact of trauma. This personal history drives her commitment to trauma-informed peacekeeping and protecting the judiciary. Her volunteer work as a Court Appointed Special Advocate has been both heart-breaking and a privilege, as she helped families navigate their most challenging times.
Laura is also active in No.Warehouse.In.Media, joining other residents concerned about over-development and safety issues in Middletown. Recently, she has collaborated with hundreds of residents across our community in support of resident-focused planning and zoning.
If elected Constable, Laura will be dedicated to protecting the rights of Middletown residents, particularly our most vulnerable residents, and supporting the judiciary's role in furthering community safety.
